Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar & Journey to Prison Island
Welcome to Zanzibar! Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted by your Safari Spirit Journeys guide and transferred to the harbor for a scenic boat ride across the Indian Ocean to Prison Island. Glide over turquoise waters, enjoying panoramic coastal views. Once on the island, begin your guided tour through its fascinating past—from its use as a slave-holding facility and quarantine station to its current role as a conservation site. Explore the island’s historic ruins, relax on its white-sand beaches, or dip into the inviting waters for a swim or casual snorkel before settling into your beachfront accommodation.

Day 2: Snorkeling Adventure & Tortoise Encounter
Wake up to the sound of ocean waves and enjoy a tropical breakfast. Today, dive into a snorkeling excursion around the reefs surrounding Prison Island—an underwater world teeming with colorful fish, coral gardens, and maybe even starfish and rays. Afterward, visit the Giant Tortoise Sanctuary, home to Aldabra tortoises that are over a century old. Feed them, take memorable photos, and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. In the afternoon, enjoy a fresh seafood lunch and free time to unwind, read a book by the sea, or wander the island’s shaded trails.

Day 3: Leisure, Kayaking & Return to Zanzibar
Spend your final morning at leisure—lounge on the soft sands, swim in the calm waters, or enjoy optional kayaking along the island’s coastline. If you’re up for it, join a nature walk to explore the island’s lesser-known flora and fauna. In the late afternoon, board your return boat back to Stone Town. From there, Safari Spirit Journeys will arrange your transfer to your next destination or hotel, marking the end of your island retreat.
